About our Speaker:
Fernando Musa is currently CEO of Braskem America. He has been accountable for Braskem’s operations in the United States and Germany since early 2012.
Musa joined Braskem in 2010 as vice president of planning and integration at Quattor, which had just been acquired by Braskem. While at Quattor he was responsible for the integration process with Braskem. In early 2011 Musa assumed the role of vice president of planning and business development at Braskem. In this role he was also in charge of leading quantiQ, Braskem’s chemical distribution business.
Musa started his career in 1989 at Dow Chemical in its management trainee program. Throughout his career he has held various roles related to business development and strategic planning. He was one of the founding partners of MGDK, a Brazilian firm focused on consulting and venture capital-style investments. MGDK’s consulting business was sold to Monitor Group in 1998. Musa then joined Monitor Group as a managing partner, responsible for the South American operations.
Musa holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Instituto Tecnológico da Aeronáutica (ITA) and an MBA from INSEAD in France.
