About this event

Fireside Chat with Ben Gliklich, CEO of Element Solutions

The chemical industry has been going through major cyclical and geopolitical/economic disruptions on a global basis for a number of years now. Creating shareholder value, whether it is through inorganic or organic growth, operational excellence, financial engineering, and effective senior management leadership has been both a challenge and an opportunity for many companies.

Element Solutions is a leading publicly traded, specialty chemicals company whose operating businesses formulate a broad range of solutions that enhance the performance of products people use every day. Developed in multi-step technological processes, its innovative solutions enhance its customers' manufacturing processes in several key segments, including electronic circuitry, communication infrastructure, automotive systems, industrial surface finishing, and offshore energy. With revenues of $2.6 billion and EBITDA of $534 million, the company has enjoyed strong profitability and exceptional share price performance.

Under Ben Gliklich’s leadership, the company has tripled its share price, focused its business portfolio, established leadership positions in its core businesses, and implemented a wide range of operational, financial, and R&D initiatives that have strengthened the company performance. Ben will share with the audience his experiences as CEO, the challenges they have faced, and the strategies and tactics they have employed that have resulted in their success.

Element Solutions will be the recipient of the Société de Chimie Industrielle Excellence in Shareholder Value Creation Award on April 22 at a luncheon and networking event that will be held at the Yale Club of New York ballroom. Ben Gliklich will accept the award on behalf of his company and will participate in a panel discussion with the managing partner of Advent, recipient of the Excellence Award in Private Equity Investing. If you wish to be a sponsor or attend as an individual, please contact Sara North at sdci1918@gmail.com.

Peter Young, head of programs and board member of Société and a board member and the CEO of Young & Partners, the chemicals and life sciences investment banking firm, will be the moderator.
