Discussion Group: Implementing and Improving Your Digital Strategy

This event is the first of what we hope will be a series of discussion groups on topics that are of importance to those who are involved in the chemical and life science industries. The concept is to have a virtual gathering of both people who are familiar with the topic and want to share ideas and people who want to learn. We will put those who register into individual discussion rooms of no more than 15, led by a knowledgeable discussion facilitator who will guide the one hour discussion. The list of discussion facilitators has not been finalized, but it will include board members Jim Weatherall and Duane Dickson. No speakers, just a sharing of ideas and experiences.

Registration will be first come, first serve with the only limit being the number of discussion rooms that we will be able to support. We will operate using Chatham House rules, i.e. you can tell someone else about things your learn, but you cannot quote the person who said it. This common rule is used so that the attendees will not feel inhibited with regard to their comments.

The chemical industry has been late to start its digital transformation, but COVID-19 has forced the industry to accelerate its implementation of digital strategies. Significant investments have been made in CRMs (like Salesforce and Microsoft Dynamics), marketing automation software (like Pardot and Marketo), and even project management software for R&D/Innovation teams (like Alchemy Cloud). Inbound search traffic on ingredient database platforms (like SpecialChem and UL Prospector) is up by >50% in 1H 2020 over 1H 2019, and registration for live Webinars has doubled. New digital-savvy teams are being hired and new e-commerce platforms have launched. The field of digital possibilities is vast. What will happen to those who have been slow to adapt? What can we learn from each other about successes, failures, and new digital strategy ideas?

If you register, we will send you a link prior to the broadcast so that you can participate in the virtual discussion group.

NOTE: Registration will be limited to first 40 participants.
