Societe has been sponsoring a series of discussion groups on topics that are of importance to those who are involved in the chemical and life science industries. The concept is to have a virtual gathering of both people who are familiar with the topic and want to share ideas and people who want to learn. We will put those who register into individual discussion rooms of no more than 15, led by a knowledgeable discussion facilitator who will guide the one hour discussion. No speakers, just a sharing of ideas and experiences.
Registration will be first come, first serve with the only limit being the number of discussion rooms that we will be able to support. We will operate using Chatham House rules, i.e. you can tell someone else about things you learn, but you cannot quote the person who said it. This common rule is used so that the attendees will not feel inhibited with regard to their comments.
There is no question that there are going to be major changes in US policies across many dimensions: dealing with the Covid-19 crisis, foreign policy, trade policies, infrastructure improvements, taxes, climate initiatives, education, etc. With a Democrat as President and control of the Senate and the House of Representatives potentially in the hands of the Democratic Party, the potential for major change is clearly there. The discussion group will focus on sharing views of what the possible changes that we can expect with the new administration and what impact those changes will have on the chemical and life science industries. We hope to have a diverse mix of attendees who can share their knowledge and perspectives with each other.
The discussion group will focus on these issues, share views of what the likely direction we will head in, and the impact these directions will have on each of us in our business lives.
NOTE: Registration will be limited to the first 40 participants
