TOPIC: Semiconductor Industry Perspectives and Cabot Microelectronics' Role

  SPEAKER:
  David Li,
  President and CEO,
  Cabot Microelectronics

The semiconductor industry is one of the key drivers of growth and technology innovation for the global economy. Semiconductors enable the systems and products that we use to work, communicate, travel, entertain, harness energy, treat illness, make new scientific discoveries, and more. The semiconductor industry itself is the aggregate collection of companies engaged in the design and fabrication of semiconductors and the critical suppliers of materials and equipment involved. The industry came into existence around 1960, once the fabrication of semiconductor devices became a viable business, and has estimated revenue of $500 billion.

David Li is the CEO of Cabot Microelectronics Corporation, a leading supplier of consumable materials to semiconductor manufacturers.  The company’s products play a critical role in the production of advanced semiconductor devices, helping to enable the manufacture of smaller, faster and more complex devices by its customers.  The company’s mission is to create value by delivering high-performing and innovative solutions that solve its customer’s challenges.

In this discussion, David will share his view of the current state of the semiconductor industry, industry outlook, and the key role that companies such as Cabot Microelectronics play in semiconductor production and technology innovation. Additionally, David will discuss the history of Cabot Microelectronics and how the company has evolved to becoming a premier supplier of materials to the semiconductor industry.
